meet our Dentists
Drake K. sellmeyer, dds
I’ve always had a true compassion and a heart for helping people. Through dentistry, I can really get to know my patients and help them work through any fears or anxiety to restore not only their smile, but also their self-esteem and confidence.
Growing up in a small town, sense of community was important and part of everyday life. Practicing dentistry in Skiatook, gives me that same connection and each time a child or adult trusts me to get them healthy, it’s so rewarding.
Being able to do what I love every day, makes being a mom and wife even better. I’ve been married for 16 years and have 3 children: Major 11, Lucia 9 and Sloan 6. We enjoy hanging out together, camping and taking care of our many pets.
When I’m not at Skiatook Family Dentistry, I’m the supervising dentist at the OU Dental Hygiene Program in Bartlesville. I’ve also been on the OU College of Dentistry Dental Hygiene Board for 4 years and am a member of the Oklahoma Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Dr. Meghan and I also enjoy volunteering our time through the Oklahoma Mission of Mercy to provide free dentistry to people who really need it and don’t have access to it.
I received my Master of Public Health degree in 2013 and graduated from the OU College of Dentistry in 2004. Before that, I completed my undergraduate work in 2000 at Oklahoma City University where I played basketball.

There is no better feeling than a patient being ecstatic after a procedure. Seeing them love their smile makes me so happy and I’m grateful I can help them feel more confident.
Connecting with my patients is very important to me and I want them to feel comfortable. I’m a down to earth, genuine person and that carries through to my passion for dentistry. For me, it’s as simple as doing excellent work and helping people.
I also love the technology and aesthetics aspects of dentistry and that combined with how I connect with my patients helps create a space that’s open and comfortable where we can really communicate about what’s important to them in their smile, health and happiness.
Outside of my time at Skiatook Family Dentistry, I love spending time with my little boy, Sven who’s about to turn 6. He’s amazing! My family and spending time with my mom is important to me. I also enjoy gardening, traveling, spending time with my pets and connecting with the outdoors and nature. On Sundays, you can find me on the golf course with my Dad. I make it a priority to find beauty in each and every day.
My sister and I volunteer our time through the Oklahoma Mission of Mercy to provide free dentistry to people and this is another way I can give back and really help those in need in our state. I completed a preceptorship in implantology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in 2020. I also graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in 2009 and completed my undergraduate work in Biology at Northeastern State University.
